Bumper is one of the most important exterior parts in a car,including front bumper and rear bumper, which should be not only of intensity and stiffness somehow to buffer the damage in a car crash, but also aesthetically pleasing.
The automotive bumper is a security apparatus which absorbs and relieves outer impact force to protect the front or back of automotive body and systems as well as driver in a certain extent. Bunches of years ago bumpers were made of stamping iron plate and welded with body stringer which left a big gap between bumper and body that was ugly looking. While modern automotive bumper should be light and aesthetically and harmoniously fits the body besides its protecting function and more considered for pedestrians now, so plastic such as PP+EPDM-TD20 are widely used for bumper main body material that pp as main composition, a small amount of EPDM to increase elastic strength and 20% talc powder to increase stiffness.
A set of auto bumper assembly includes many kits like lamps, mouldings, brackets, enforcement supports, absorbers and other accessories and screws. We do all moulds for plastic accessories and of course some batch of plastic products to support the T1 component suppliers to send the car makers for inspection at relative benchmarks and small-lot production.
When the auto makers do the design of a front bumper, ergonomics checks should be considered including trafficability check, license plate check, area of air inlet check, low speed crashworthiness check, pedestrian protection and towbar work feasibility. And we also get involved in some part design synchronously with the auto makers for the previous development and then we do the front bumper mould design and manufacturing.
